WEST POINT, NY – The University at Buffalo men's and women's swimming and diving teams split results against Army on Saturday afternoon at Crandall Pool in West Point. The UB women (3-0) remained undefeated this season with a 168-127 victory. The UB men (1-1) suffered their first loss of the season with a 164.5-135.5 decision to the Black Knights.
UB's women won 10 of the first 14 events before swimming exhibition over the final two events. Meanwhile, the UB men took just six of the 16 events against the Black Knights.
Matt Schwippert and Mike Dugan were mulitple winners for the UB men.
"I am really proud of both teams today," said head coach Andy Bashor. "The women have been very consistent and they were today. The men came up a little short today. We were in a lot of close races and weren't able to get our hand to the wall before them. We had many in-season best times which means we are getting better. We still have a lot of work to do and I am confident that we will keep improving."
UB's swimmers are next in action at the Akron Zippy Invitational, November 30-December 2. The UB divers will compete next weekend in Tucson, AZ at the Arizona Diving Invitational.
