Rhoades Finishes Fifth in Platform Competition

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The University at Buffalo's Kenny Rhoades completed competition at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships at Navy's Lejeune Hall on Sunday with a fifth-place finish in the men's platform event.
Rhoades totaled 561.90 points for his 12 dives. Rhoades finished the preliminary round with a six-dive total of 281.90 points to stand in fourth place. He tallied 280.00 points in the final round of six dives.
Rhoades was one of three UB divers to compete at this weekend's competitions that will send athletes to the upcoming NCAA Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. Rhoades also finished 12th on the three-meter board on Saturday and 34th in the one-meter competition on Friday. Colin Patrican placed 17th in the one-meter and 28th in the three-meter events. Women's freshman Ava Giachino placed 18th in the one-meter competition and 44th on the three-meter board.
