Bulls Drop Series Opener at Northern Illinois, 6-1

DEKALB, IL - The University at Buffalo baseball team dropped the opening contest of a weekend series against Northern Illinois, 6-1, on Friday afternoon at Ralph McKenzie Field. The Bulls move to 11-11 overall and 1-3 in conference competition.
Following the opening inning, the Bulls found themselves trailing the Huskies, 2-0.
In the top of the second, Buffalo managed to cut the Huskies' lead in half, 2-1, off an RBI single by junior David Neff.
Northern Illinois secured its lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third, 4-1. Later in the contest, the Huskies solidified their 6-1 victory off single runs in the bottom of the fifth and eighth innings.
Starter Chaz Mye (3-3) recorded the Bulls' loss.
Scoring the Bulls' lone tally, senior Brad Cochrane went 2-for-4 with a double.
The Bulls (11-11, 1-3 MAC) will continue in their conference weekend series against the Huskies on Saturday, April 3 with the opening pitch at 2:00 pm ET.
