Eric Flynn Heads Down Under to Play Pro Ball

BUFFALO, NY - Former Bulls outfielder Eric Flynn will head halfway around the world to continue his baseball career, signing with the Beenleigh Hawks of the Greater Brisbane Baseball League in Australia. He is the sixth Buffalo player to sign a professional contract in the past four years, joining Steve Geltz, Mike Folli, Zach Anderson, Chaz Mye and - most recently - Brad Agustin.
Flynn, a Niagara Falls, NY native, played for Buffalo from 2006-09. Most recently, Flynn played locally in the New York State League where he earned player of the week honors after setting a league record for most stolen bases in a single game, with four. While playing at Buffalo, he showed solid plate discipline, earning him the eighth-most walks in program history with 71 free passes.
The Greater Brisbane Baseball League is the major league of the Australian state of Queensland. The league consists of two divisions - Northside and Southside - and has 18 club teams total.
