Slade, Scott K.

Scott K. Slade
- Induction:
- 2003
- Class:
- 1984
1978-82 (BS '84)
- Scott was dominant in the Bull's wrestling team as a junior and senior, when he earned most valuable player accolades, AND went on to be named UB's Male Athlete of the Year both years.
- During his senior campaign, Scott was third in the NCAA Championships at 167 pounds (winning All-American honors), after finishing the dual meet portion of the schedule with a 12-1 mark. His combined record of 32-3 (.914) was the second best in UB single-season history. He also won the SUNYAC 167-pound crown and was third in his weight class in the State Championship Meet.
- As a junior, Scott placed second in the NCAA Division II Meet (to, again, earn All-American honors) and pinned the defending champion in the waning seconds of his opening match. Earlier that same season, he was runner-up in the SUNYAC Championship and third in the New York State Collegiate Meet.
- He served as co-captain his senior year, when he was the ONLY returning letterman, then led the Bulls in six categories, as he had also done as a junior.
- Scott, at the time of his induction into the Athletic Hall of Fame, held spots among the top ten in seven career and single-season team categories, with his twenty-four career reversals, good for fifth, his second highest placing.
