BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's soccer team saw three student-athletes earn All-MAC recognition on Thursday afternoon, as announced by the conference office. Senior defender Gurjeena Jandu earned First Team honors while Marcy Barberic was named to the second team and Leah Wengender earned All-Freshman team honors.

"This is the most balanced and deepest team we have ever had here at UB," said head coach Shawn Burke. "It says a lot about the abilities and consistent performances these three put in each week and the recognition is justly deserved. They will also be the first to say they were able to excel because of the amazing players around them."

Jandu earned first team honors for the second time in her UB career. The team captain was the catalyst for a strong UB defense as she helped the Bulls secure six clean sheets on the season while holding opponents to 1.05 goals-against per game. She has also contributed on the offensive end, recording one goal and three assists on 13 shots in 18 starts for the Bulls. Jandu has now earned All-MAC honors in each of her four seasons for the Bulls as she has proved to be one of the best defenders in the conference.

Barberic earned All-MAC second team honors for the first time in her UB career. The junior captain has led the Bulls offense this season as she has recorded five goals and three assists on a team-best 59 shots while starting all 19 games for the UB this season.

Wengender has had a strong season for the Bulls and she was rewarded with a spot on the All-Freshman team. Wengender has brought speed and versatility to the Bulls attack and has been an integral part of UB's set pieces, recording two goals and three assists on 27 shots in 19 appearances this season. This marks the sixth straight season that the Bulls have placed a rookie on the All-Freshman team.

The No. 4 seeded Bulls take on the top-seeded Bowling Green Falcons on Friday at 4pm in the first of two MAC semifinal matches at Cochrane Stadium.
