PHILADELPHIA, PA – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team had its two-match losing skid snapped on Saturday with a 5-2 win at Drexel. The victory was the seventh of the year for Buffalo.
The Dragons took the opening point in doubles action with wins at second and third doubles, but UB claimed the match at first doubles as senior Chantal Martinez Blanco and freshman Nikoleta Antoniou-Karademitrou won their match, 6-3.
Buffalo had the advantage in singles where the Bulls won five of the six matches. Martinez Blanco came away with a straight sets victory at first singles as she won 6-3, 6-4. Freshman Pia Schwarz won her match in straight sets at third singles, 6-3, 7-5, as did junior Emel Abibula, who came away with a 6-3, 7-6 (3) win at fourth singles.

The Bulls will return home for three matches this upcoming weekend as they will play twice on Friday and once on Saturday. UB will first meet Binghamton at 1pm, followed by St. Bonaventure at 7:00 pm. They will conclude on Saturday at 1pm vs. Oakland. All matches will take place at the Miller Tennis Center.
