Bulls to Honor Seniors When They Host Northern Illinois on Sunday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo wrestling team will host Northern Illinois in a Mid-American Conference dual match on Sunday afternoon at Alumni Arena. It will be senior day and the Bulls will honor six wrestlers prior to the dual.

Buffalo is 5-9 overall and 2-4 in the MAC and is coming off a loss at Eastern Michigan last Friday. The Bulls were led by Jake Gunning who earned a 5-2 decision over ranked-opponent Gage Hutchison.

Northern Illinois is 2-8 overall and 0-5 in the MAC. The Huskies are led by 133-pounder Alijah Jeffery who is 14-11 overall and 5-4 in duals on the season.

Northern Illinois holds an 11-7 advantage in the all-time series. The Bulls have won the last two meetings, including a 20-17 decision at NIU last season.

Prior to the dual, the Bulls will honor seniors Joe Ariola, Jason Estevez, Derek Holcomb, Ryan Kromer, Blake Retell and Austin Weigel.

Sunday's dual will air on ESPN3.
