BUFFALO, NY – For the sixth time this season, University at Buffalo senior guard Cierra Dillard has been named the MAC East Player of the Week, the Mid-American Conference announced on Tuesday.
The sixth weekly award sets a program record for most MAC Player of the Week honors in a season.
Dillard was a force for the Bulls this past week, averaging 33 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game on the week to help lead the Bulls to big wins at Ohio and against Miami (OH).
At Ohio, Dillard led all scorers with 35 points to go along with four rebounds, four assists and two steals. She also scored her 2,000th career point on a free throw in the fourth quarter. Against Miami (OH), the senior had a game-high 31 points to go along with eight assists, six rebounds and three steals.
Dillard is currently second in the nation in scoring at 25.5 points per game over the first 27 contests for the Bulls. The Rochester, NY native gets to the free throw line better than any player in the country as she is leads the nation in free throws made and ranks second in free throws attempted, going 186-of-223 to date from the charity stripe.
Dillard and the Bulls play their final regular season home game on Wednesday as they welcome Bowling Green to Alumni Arena at 7:00 pm.
