BUFFALO, NY – For already the third time this season, University at Buffalo senior guard Cierra Dillard has been named the MAC East Player of the Week, the Mid-American Conference announced on Tuesday.
Dillard continued to fill up the stat sheet for the Bulls this past week as part of their extended road trip. She averaged 23.0 points per game, while adding 5.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 4.0 steals per contest. Dillard has now scored 20 or more points in all eight games this season. She notched a double-double at Canisius with 25 points and 10 assists, while also finishing with six steals in the win over the crosstown rivals. Dillard added 21 points, eight rebounds, and five assists against the Flyers as she went a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line.
Dillard is currently the nation's leading scorer, averaging 25.8 points per game over the first eight contests for the Bulls. The Rochester, NY native gets to the free throw line better than any player in the country as she is first nationally in free throws made and attempted, going 69-of-78 to date from the charity stripe.
Dillard and the Bulls will wrap up their long seven-game road trip next Tuesday night (Dec. 18) when Buffalo travels to face Dartmouth at 7:00 pm.
