• Bulls Close Out Successful Tri-Meet Weekend

    BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo track & field program closed out a very successful weekend in which the team competed in three meets around the country. The Bulls’ throwers headed to Ashland University to compete in the Ashland Alumni Open, highlighted by freshman Molly Mccreedy’s victory in the discus throw with a toss of 46.58m, while other members of the track & field squad headed to the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton University as well as the Rochester Spring Invite hosted by U of R.

    BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo track and field junior Leon Atkins, who specializes in middle distance events, was named Track & Field Athlete of the Week by the Mid-American Conference for his performance this past weekend at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University over the weekend, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

    LEWISBURG, PA – The University at Buffalo track & field program returned to action this weekend, competing in the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by the Bucknell University at Christy Mathewson Memorial Stadium in Lewisburg, Pa. Buffalo Freshman Shevaughn Allen shined for the Bulls, as he leapt to a personal best 50’3.50” on his way to claiming victory in the event, ranking him first in the MAC, #18 in the NCAA East, and second all-time in program history. Leon Atkins successful campaign carried into the weekend as the mid-distance specialist claimed victory in the 800m with a personal best mark of 1:49.97, moving him up to the 28th best mark in the NCAA East region. Atkins’ mark still ranks first in the MAC, and now ranks as the fourth fastest time in program history.

    BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo track & field program will continue their outdoor season as the Bulls are set to head to Lewisburg, Pa., to compete at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University on Saturday and Sunday at Christy Mathewson Memorial Stadium. The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday with the decathlon event.

Buffalo senior Devon Patterson shined for the Bulls on the afternoon, as the shot put specialist placed second in the event with a season-best throw of 18.12m.

    BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo track & field program will send five student-athletes to Gainesville, Fla., to compete in the Florida Relays hosted by the University of Florida this weekend. Anthony Clark (110HH), Sam Wray (Discus), Brandon Burke (High Jump), Leon Atkins (800m) and Crystal Henderson (Triple Jump) will all represent the Bulls this weekend with competition starting at 10:00 am on Friday with the triple jump event.
  • Buffalo Places 17 Student-Athletes on Indoor Track & Field Academic All-MAC Team

    BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field teams placed 17 student-athletes on the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team, the league announced on Wednesday. The men had nine student-athletes recognized, while the women had eight student-athletes receive the honor. A total of 239 student-athletes were named to the team from around the conference.
  • Bulls Track & Field Return to Action With Strong Showing

    WILLIAMSBURG, VA – The University at Buffalo track and field team opened up their outdoor season this Saturday as they competed in the Dan Stimson Memorial Meet hosted by the College of William & Mary. The Bulls saw three individual victories on the day, as sophomore Brandon Burke claimed first place in the high jump with a leap of 2.06m, tying a personal best mark. Additionally, Bulls freshman Molly McCreedy took home first in the discus throw with a toss of 44.39m in her first collegiate meet. Crystal Henderson added a third Buffalo victory as she sprinted to a first place finish in the 100H with a time of 14.36, a new career-best time. In all, the Bulls collected 18 top-five finishes on the afternoon.

    BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo track & field program will head to Williamsburg, VA, to kick off their outdoor season at the annual Dan Stimson Memorial Track Meet hosted by the College of William & Mary. The meet kicks off on Saturday with field events getting underway at 10:00 a.m. and running events starting at 12:30 p.m. with the 3000m steeplechase event.

  • Bulls Collect Four Victories at Zips Invite

    AKRON, OH – 21 Bulls posted top-five finishes, with three Bulls collecting individual wins, at the Akron Zips Invitational on Friday night. Amy Villarini won the women's 400m with a time of 56.95. Raven Jordan took home the win in the long jump with a leap of 4.97m. Jess Dhaliwall collected the win in the weight throw with a haul of 19.94m. Finally, the Bulls’ relay team of Franklin, Shea, Perrier and Thompson collected a win in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:01.57, five seconds ahead of the second placed team.

The Bulls competed in the meet last year, which serves as a tune-up for next week’s MAC Championships, which saw three Bulls collecting individual victories.

    BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo indoor track and field team will head to Kent, Ohio, on Saturday as they look to continue their indoor season at the Doug Raymond National Qualifiers hosted by MAC rival Kent State University on Saturday, February 9th. The Bulls competed in the event last year, posting 21 top-five finishes between the men and women, including senior Selina Von Jackowski’s victory in the long jump event with a leap of 19-04.75. The meet is slated to start at noon with field events, and will take place in the Kent State field house.

Dana Lynch has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University at Buffalo head coach and program director Vicki Mitchell announced Saturday morning.

    BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo indoor track and field team will head to Akron, Ohio., on Friday as the indoor season continues at the Akron Invitational, hosted by the University of Akron at the Stile Athletics Field House. Events are slated to start on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and continue throughout the entire day on Saturday. UB competed at the event last year, with three Bulls collecting individual victories, including Christopher Nowak who claimed victory for Buffalo in the 800m event, crossing the line with a season-best time of 1:53.24.

    BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo track and field team continued their indoor season, competing in the EMU CAN-AM hosted by Eastern Michigan on Saturday in Ypsilanti, Mich. at the Bowen Field House. The Bulls were able to collect two individual victories on the afternoon as Jess Dhaliwall collected a victory in the weight throws event and Sydney March won in the women’s 600m.

    BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo indoor track and field team will head to Ypsilanti, Mich., this weekend as they are set to compete in the EMU CAN-AM International meet hosted by Eastern Michigan University on Saturday, January 26th in the Bowen Field House. This will be the first time the Bulls have competed in the event. The CAN-AM International is scheduled to begin with field events taking place at 9 a.m. followed by running events at 1 p.m. 
  • Track & Field Announces Hire of Assistant Coach Brian Lombardo

    BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo track and field program is pleased to announce the addition of Coach Brian Lombardo to the Track & Field coaching staff, program director and Head Coach Vicki Mitchell announced on Tuesday morning. Lombardo comes to UB from nearby Sweet Home High School, where he brings in a wealth of knowledge and almost 20 years of coaching experience, along with a storied coaching resume. Lombardo will be in charge of overseeing the jumps and combined events for the Bulls teams.
