AKRON, OH – 21 Bulls posted top-five finishes, with three Bulls collecting individual wins, at the Akron Zips Invitational on Friday night. Amy Villarini won the women's 400m with a time of 56.95. Raven Jordan took home the win in the long jump with a leap of 4.97m. Jess Dhaliwall collected the win in the weight throw with a haul of 19.94m. Finally, the Bulls’ relay team of Franklin, Shea, Perrier and Thompson collected a win in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:01.57, five seconds ahead of the second placed team.
BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo indoor track and field team will once again head to Akron, Ohio, for the second time in as many weeks on Friday as the team is set to compete in the Zips Invitational hosted by the University of Akron in the Stile Athletics Field House. Lombardo comes to UB from nearby Sweet Home High School, where he brings in a wealth of knowledge and almost 20 years of coaching experience, along with a storied coaching resume. BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo hosted the third annual Garnham Throws Challenge on Sunday afternoon. The event gives recognition to UB throw coach Jim Garnham, who is one of the most decorated throwing coaches in the NCAA.
The University at Buffalo men's and women's track and field teams have both been honored as All-Academic Teams by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The men's team posted a team grade point average of 3.03, while the women's team posted a 3.22.
The Mid-American Conference announced today the Distinguished Scholar Athletes from the eight spring sports during this 2017-18 academic season as 138 students were voted by faculty athletic representatives at MAC institutions representing the ‘best of the best’ from each sports Academic All-MAC Teams. Buffalo, which sponsors teams in five of the right sports, had seven individuals named Distinguished Scholar Athletes.

University at Buffalo distance runner Oscar Vazquez finished fifth in the men’s 10,000m at the USATF Junior Nationals at Indiana University over the weekend. His time of 33:22.76 was just six seconds shy of qualifying for the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships.

Christopher Nowak, Thomas Flannery and Oscar Vazquez will all be competing in hopes of being selected for the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships.
The University at Buffalo placed 17 outdoor track and field student-athletes on the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team, the league announced on Wednesday. The women’s team had 11 selections, while the men had six named to the team.
The NCAA East Preliminaries concluded on Saturday with Devon Patterson competing in the men’s shot put. Patterson closed out his season placing 16th of the 48 competitors, narrowly missing out on punching his ticket to Eugene in the top-12.
