Charone Williams joins the University at Buffalo Track & Field program as the men's and women's Assistant Coach for sprints, hurdles, and relays. Williams comes with extensive knowledge and experience coaching track & field at the NCAA Division I level as will as the high school level. He has coached numerous NCAA All-Americans and Olympic Trail Qualifiers.
Prior to Buffalo, Williams served as the Assistant Coach for sprints, hurdles, and jumps at Coastal Carolina University from 2014-2016. During his time there, Williams mentored Olympic-caliber athletes in hurdles and sprints for both the men and women; while also assisting in recruiting efforts.. From 2013-2014, Williams served as the Volunteer Assistant Coach for women's sprints, hurdles, and jumps at Georgia Southern University. While there, he assisted in the development of training programs for performance enhancement; while also assisting in recruiting. Williams was also an assistant coach at University of North Florida (2011-2013), Flagler Palm Coach High School (2006-2011), and PK Young Developmental School (2004-2006).
Williams is USATF Level I Certified and Certified in Athletic Coaching for K-12.
Williams was a student-athlete at Auburn University for three years. He competed in 400 Hurdles, 400m indoors, 4X400 indoors and outdoors, and 4X100 outdoors. He was a part of the 2003 NCAA Runner-Up Team.
Williams received a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Central Florida in 2010. He is originally from Jacksonville, Florida.
