Bulls Complete Day One of MAC Championships

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men's and women's track and field teams completed the first day of action at the 2018 Outdoor Mid-American Conference Championships at UB Stadium on Thursday.

The Bulls put two student-athletes on the podium in the women's hammer throw. Miranda Daucher finished fifth with a throw of 54.94. Mckenzie Kuehlewind threw a season-best 53.10 to finish seventh.

In preliminary action, Mitchell Moore posted the best time in the 400m hurdles with a 52.37 to qualify for Saturday's final.

In the final event of the day, Benjamin Cardamone finished strong to run a personal-best 30:49.71 in the 10,000m to take fifth place. It was a big improvement for Cardamone whose previous best time was 31:02.50.

After the first day of action, the UB women sit in eighth place with six points while the men are in sixth place with four points.
 
Competition continues tomorrow and will conclude on Saturday.
