BUFFALO, NY - Buffalo track and field will compete in the Penn Relays on Thursday and Friday before hosting the UB Invitational on Saturday at UB Stadium.
A select group of student-athletes will compete at the historic Penn Relays on Thursday and Friday at Franklin Field. It's an opportunity for UB's track and field program to compete some of the best collegiate athletes across the United States.
Saturday's UB Invitational at UB Stadium will be the team's lone home competition for the year. It will also be the last meet for many of the program's athletes before the MAC Championships on May 12-14 hosted by Toledo.
UB will face other competitors from Daemen College, Fredonia State, Niagara University, University of Pittsburgh, and two Canadian schools, University of Guelph and University of Toronto during Saturday's UB Invitational. Field events will begin at 11:00 am, while the first track event is tentatively scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. A full schedule of Saturday's events can be found here. Before the UB Invitational, the 716 Mile will take place starting at 11:00 am. More information on the 716 mile and how to register can be found here.
Throughout Saturday's action, a Be The Match registry drive will also take place to support Leah Wightman, a 2013 UB graduate, and her battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
