Malayah White Breaks 100 Meter Dash School Record at Jesse Owens Classic

COLUMBUS, OH - The Bulls continued competition at the Jesse Owens Class on Saturday. Their strong performances from Friday carried over into the second day of action. Malayah White broke her own school record in the 100 meter dash and finished third with a time of 11.59, which was .16 seconds faster than her previous record.

Austin Price and Kaishaun Cathey earned third and fourth in the triple jump with attempts of 14.89m and 14.86m, respectively. Austin Ashby jumped 7.18 m in the long jump to finish fourth overall. 

Mitchell Moore finished fixth in the 400 meter hurdles after posting a season-best time of 53.29 in the event. Moore also won his event heat. Buffalo's women's 4 x 100 meter relay team consisting of Malayah White, Camaria Long, Asher Beasley, and Tyra Forbes ran a season-best time of 46.60 to place seventh overall.

On her fifth throw of the day Joanna Hallisy hit 13.80m in the shotput. Her throw earned her a fourth place finish. Megan Patterson hit a season-best mark of 53.08m in the hammer throw and placed sixth overall.

UB now prepare for the historic Penn Relays on Thursday, April 28-Saturday, April 30. They will also host their lone home event of the year on April 30.
