Bulls Wrap Up Competition at Wake Forest Open

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The UB men's and women's track and field teams concluded competition at the Wake Forest Open on Saturday. Overall it was an opportunity for them to open up their 2016 outdoor season on the right note despite the weather being cold, rainy, and windy.

Buffalo found success in both 4x100 relay events. In the women's race Malayah White, Camaria Long, Asher Beasley, and Tyra Forbes won the event with a time of 47.24. UB's men's 4x100 relay team consisting of Darien Johnson, Joshua Gali, Mitchell Fuller, and Mitchell Moore finished in 42.14 to place second.

Craig Kaiser and Tom Meehan ran 1:54.30 and 1:55.01 in the 800 meter race to finish second and third, respectively.

Kyla Kenyon finished fourth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.69

Taylor Woods threw 43.35m in the discus throw to place sixth. Laurent Dure best attempt of the day of 1.92m in the high jump placed him t-fourth overall. In the long jump Christian Doherty also finished fourth with an attempt of 6.43m. Austin Price found a top-10 finish by jumping 6.38m and earning ninth place.

UB is back in action on April 1-2 when they travel to the Sunshine State for the Florida Relays.
