Six Bulls Hit Personal-Best Marks at Zips Invitational


AKRON, OH - Ahead of the indoor track and field MAC Championships being held at Akron University next week, a portion of the Buffalo men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Zips Invitational on Friday. The Bulls impressed with six different individuals hitting personal-best marks.

In the 800 meter run Brian Crimmins and Tyler Scheving finished first and second with times of 1:49.93 and 1:50.09, respectively. Crimmins' time is a new personal-best time in the event. Tom Meehan also hit a PR with by finishing the race in 1:52.33 and sixth place.

Camaria Long finished second in the 200 meter dash. Her time of 24.58 is a season-best mark and puts her only .02 of Malayah White's team-best 200 meter dash time of 24.56. Allison Mazur hit a new personal-best by finishing the 60m dash in a time of 7.76 and earning a third-place finish. 

Nina Zesky tied her season-best mark of 1.63m in the high jump. Her best clear was good enough to finish second overall. In the throws two more Bulls hit career-best marks. Joanna Hallisy finished third in the shot put by launching the shot put 13.75m on her fifth attempt of the night. Taylor Woods finished sixth overall in the weight throw with her best mark on the night of 15.99m. Teammates McKenzie Kuehlewind and Miranda Daucher finished third (17.08m) and fourth (16.90m), respectively.

In the men's shot put Ryan Cribbin placed first with a mark of 17.34m, while Devon Patterson's best attempt of 17.19m earned him a second-place finish.

The Bulls are back in action on Saturday as other members of the track and field teams head to Cornell for their final tune-up before the MAC Championships.
