AKRON, OH – The track and field teams took part in the Akron Invitational on Friday and Saturday. This meet allowed the Bulls to compete at the site of the 2016 MAC Championships for indoor track and field.
For the second straight week Brian Crimmins broke the school record in the one mile run with a time of 4.07.45, which is .29 faster than what he ran a week ago at Penn State. Amy Shaw finished first and hit a season-best time of 4:56.58 in the women's one mile run, while Melinda Wheeler took home a third-place finish with a time of 4:58.07
Camaria Long finished third place in the 400m dash with a time of 55.76 against a handful of other competitors from the MAC. Christine Lyttle ran a person-best time of 8.55 in the 60m hurdles to place second. In the 200m dash Malayah White crushed her personal-best time as she finished in 24.56 and earned second place. Corinne Birchard finished second in the 800m run with a time of 2:10.99.
In other action Devon Patterson finished first in the men's shot put with a season-best attempt of 18.02m (59-01.50), while Ryan Cribbin finished third. The Bulls placed three in the top ten of the discus with Taylor Woods leading the way in third place (47.34m/155' 04.00").
