STATE COLLEGE, PA - UB track and field teams split up with part of the team heading to Penn State, while others headed to the Spire Midwest Invite in Geneva, Ohio. The Bulls got off to a strong strong on Friday with Darien Johnson and Malayah White both breaking the school record in the 60 meter dash.
Johnson and White ran 60 meter dash three times each. With the event being one of the larger fields the Bulls will see throughout the season, there were preliminaries, semifinals, and finals for the event instead of only having preliminaries and finals.

White tied Camaria Long's school record in the semifinals with a time of 7.56. In the finals she destroyed the record by improving her time to finish in 7.51 seconds.
Christine Lyttle advanced to the 60 meter hurdles semifinals and just missed out on qualifying for the finals by .01 seconds. Her time of 8.69 seconds in the semifinals was her fastest time in the event this season.
Barrett Kemp ran 14:38.07 in the 5,000 meter run to finish seventh. His time is the seconded-fastest in school history and a personal record by 17 seconds. Morgan Mahoney and Meagan Hopkins also hit personal-best times in the 5,000 meter run with times of 17:37.96 and 17:41.10, respectively.
