BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo track & field program announced the creation of The Garnham Throws Challenge on Monday afternoon. This event is giving recognition to UB throws coach Jim Garnham, one of the most decorated throwing coaches in the NCAA.
BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo track and field head coach Vicki Mitchell announced the signing of five student-athletes on Wednesday afternoon. The five signees are Martine Bye, Zach Jones, Chima Ezeilo, Ray Anikwue and Stephanie Ward.
The University at Buffalo Track and Field program has received a number of academic honors from the USTFCCCA as both the men’s and women’s programs were honored for their academics as well as individuals Amy Shaw and Brian Crimmins.
The Mid-American Conference announced today the Distinguished Scholar Athletes from the eight spring sports during the 2015-16 academic season and listed amongst the group were four University at Buffalo student-athletes. This list was voted on by the faculty athletic representatives and represents the “best of the best” from each sports’ Academic All-MAC Teams.
BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo Track and Field Associate Head Coach Steve Esler has been named team USA coach for the men’s decathlon at the Pan American Combined Events Cup. Esler was selected by the USATF to lead the men’s decathletes at the Pan American Combined Events Cup which will be held in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada from June 17-18.
The University at Buffalo student-athletes set a new standard in academics during the 2016 spring semester with a program-best GPA of 3.096. This marked the ninth straight semester UB student-athletes have surpassed the 3.0 combined mark.
BUFFALO, NY - 11 members of the UB outdoor track and field team were named to the Academic All-MAC Team on Wednesday, as announced by the conference office. The Bulls included were among the 196 student-athletes who earned the academic honor.

Junior Ryan Cribbin claimed his first career Mid-American Conference outdoor title in the shot put to highlight day two at the MAC Championships for the University at Buffalo track and field team. Continuing the tradition of being one of the best throw schools in the country, Cribbin gave the Bulls their seventh straight outdoor shot put MAC Champion and since 2009 UB has won 14 of 16 MAC shot put titles between indoor and outdoor.
TOLEDO, OH – The University at Buffalo track and field team opened up competition at the 2016 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track And Field Championships on Thursday at Toledo. The Bulls had 10 athletes in action on Thursday in the first day of the three-day conference championship event.

BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo track and field senior Camaria Long was named Mid-American Conference track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning. This marks the first time this season Long has been garnered with the weekly award.
BUFFALO, NY - Buffalo men's and women's track and field teams dominated in their sole home event of the year at they won 23 events overall. Saturday's meet was a good meet to prepare for the MAC Championships, which take place from May 12-14 at Toledo.
COLUMBUS, OH - The Bulls continued competition at the Jesse Owens Class on Saturday. Their strong performances from Friday carried over into the second day of action. Malayah White broke her own school record in the 100 meter dash and finished third with a time of 11.59, which was .16 seconds faster than her previous record.
COLUMBUS, OHIO - The men's and women's track and field teams competed in the first of two days at the Jesse Owens Classic on Friday. Amy Shaw's performance in the 5,000 meter run was the highlight of the night as she broke the school record in the event by almost seven seconds.
In conjunction with their home meet on Saturday, April 30, the University at Buffalo track and field program will be hosting a Be The Match Registry drive to support former UB track standout Leah Whitman, who is battling cancer. Be The Match Registry is a bone marrow registry service that helps pair donors with those who are in need of a bone marrow transplant as they battle life-threatening blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma.
STORRS, CT - Buffalo track and field teams competed at the Northeast Challenge against the hosts University of Connecticut, Albany, Northeastern, Rhode Island, Southern Connecticut State on Saturday. The Bulls had many impressive performances as the men's team finished in third place and the women's team placed fifth.
BUFFALO, NY – 13 student-athletes from the University at Buffalo’s winter sports were named to the MAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete list on Friday. This is in addition to the 12 student-athletes who earned the honor for Fall sports earlier this year.
BUFFALO, NY – Seven student-athletes signed their NLI on Wednesday to join the UB Bulls Track & Field/Cross Country Team. UB track and field now have 10 members in the class of 2020 after they had two athletes sign in November.
The University at Buffalo unveiled a new set of athletics logos on Tuesday. While the traditional interlocking UB logo will serve as the primary mark, a new wordmark and spirit mark were also introduced.
BUFFALO, NY- After breaking three school records at the Florida Relays last week, Buffalo's track and field teams are back in action on Saturday. They will compete at the University of Virginia in the Lou Onesty Invitational.
