AZUSA, CA – The University at Buffalo, State University of New York men's and women's outdoor track & field teams were represented Thursday at the Mt. SAC Relays and the California Invitational Combined Events. Junior Mike Morgan completed day two of the Mt. SAC Relays decathlon and senior Emma Siuciak did so in the California Invitational heptathlon. Siuciak placed ninth out of 50, while Morgan finished sixth out of 20.
Siuciak, who sat fourth with 3,303 points through four events Wednesday, tallied 5,194 points. On Thursday, she opened the day with a leap of 5.54 meters in the long jump. Siuciak went on to record a mark of 30.31 meters in the javelin and closed out the event with a time of 2:29.64 in the 800 run.
Morgan, who ranked fourth with 4,033 points through five events, recorded 7,538 points in the decathlon. He set personal records in the 110 high hurdles and the discus. He opened day two with the field's second-best time of 14.52 in the hurdles, before a 39.68-meter toss in the discus. Morgan cleared 4.70 meters in the pole vault, hit 41.51 meters in the javelin and closed out the event with a 4:43.92 finish in the 1,500.
Siuciak and Morgan hold the school records in their respective multi events for UB.
The Bulls' top distance crew will compete at Princeton Friday night and the remainder of the team will travel to Cornell on Saturday.
