UB Men’s T&F Program Inches Toward Top-25 Ranking

NEW ORLEANS, LA – The University at Buffalo, State University of New York men's outdoor track & field team ranks 34th nationally in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association week one poll announced Monday.

The Bulls, who rank second to Cornell in the Northeast Regional Rankings, tallied 53.99 points in the national standings.

Senior Jonathan Jones spearheads UB's top performances with the second-best shot put mark in the nation of 20.70 meters. Juniors Brian Crimmins and Tyler Scheving each earned points for their respective weekend times in the 800-meter run, 1:48.71 and 1:49.02.

UB carries over additional performances from 2014 in the early-season standings. Mike Morgan tallies points for his 7,699-point performance in the decathlon, Ryan Billian did so with his 7.54-meter showing in the long jump and the Bulls' 4x100 team that raced to a 39.88 finish recorded points as well.

The Bulls return to action on Saturday and Sunday at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic.
