BUFFALO, NY - After a record-setting weekend at the Princeton Elite Meet, senior sprinter Donna Jeanty was named Mid-American Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week on Wednesday. Jeanty has now received this honor twice during her senior season at UB.
Jeanty had her most impressive weekend of the outdoor season at the Princeton Elite meet as she recorded two first place finishes for the Bulls. Individually, Jeanty dominated the field in the 400m hurdles event as she set a new school and meet record, finishing in 58.07 seconds. Jeanty now ranks first in the MAC in the 400m hurdles event and 8th overall in the NCAA Eastern regional. Jeanty was also a part of the 4x400m relay team that took home first place in 3:43.40. The other three Bulls on the winning relay were Asia Henry, Crystal Graham and Camaria Long.
The Bulls claimed 12 event victories at the Cornell Invitational and two victories at the Princeton Elite Meet this past weekend as they are preparing for the MAC Championships. Next up for the Bulls will be their final tuneup as they travel to Akron, Ohio on Friday and Saturday for the Al Wright-Campbell Invite.
