Price Takes Home 1st Place In Triple Jump On Final Day Of The Penn Relays

PITTSBURGH, PA - The University at Buffalo track and field teams wrapped up competition at the 120th Penn Relays on Saturday afternoon. Leading the way for the Bulls was junior Austin Price who took home 1st place in the triple jump.

Price was very impressive on Saturday afternoon as he collected his first victory of the outdoor season in the triple jump. Price took home first place in the Eastern triple jump event with a leap of 49'9.25" (15.17m).

In other field events, Evan Palmer continued his strong push towards being one of the best hammer throwers in the country as he took home third place in the event on Saturday. Palmer recorded a season-best throw of 211'8.00" (64.52m) en route to his third top-three finish of the outdoor season. Palmer also took home seventh place in the discus with a throw of 180'2.00" (54.93m) while Jacob Sunday took third place in the javelin throw with a long throw of 220'11.00" (67.36m).

On the track, the Bulls had three relay squads come up with great performances as both the men's and women's 4x800 meter relay teams took home third place. The men's team of Alec Peinkofer, Ben Reinhardt, Brian Crimmins and Tyler Scheving finished with a season-best time of 7:30.82 while the women's quartet of Meghan Manley, Uwa Omorogbe, Donna Jeanty and Asia Henry finished in 8:53.18. In the 4x100 meter relay, the men's team of Darien Johnson, Jalen Law, Miles Lewis and Ryan Billian had a strong showing as they finished in sixth place in 40.95 seconds.

Running in the men's 100 meter final on Saturday, Lewis finished strong with a seventh place finish in 10.61 seconds.

The Bulls will return to the track on Friday, May 9 as they will travel to Akron, Ohio for the Al Wright-Campbell Open. The two-day event will begin Friday and run through Saturday.
