BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo's cross country and track and field programs will host their annual three-day summer camp starting on Wednesday, July 9 and running through Saturday, July 12. The camp is open to boys and girls between the ages of 12-18. The camp will feature instruction from men's and women's cross country/women's track and field head coach Vicki Mitchell and men's track and field head coach Perry Jenkins and the UB coaching staff as well as demonstrations from UB student-athletes.
UB Cross Country and Track & Field Summer Camp
When: Wednesday, July 9 – Saturday, July 12, 2014
Where: UB Stadium, UB North Campus (Overnight campers will stay in the Ellicott Complex, but use multiple facilities around campus.)
Who Should Attend: The UB Track and Field Camp and Cross Country Camp help develop skills and techniques for track and field and cross country. They are learning camps, not training camps. Participants take part in drills, attend lectures and demonstrations, and use visual aids for each event, including the decathlon and heptathlon. Other aspects of competition – nutrition, rest, relaxation, and general health – are also part of the daily training. Because performance levels of campers may vary from beginner to advanced, instruction is individualized to accommodate that range. The camp is recommended for students entering grades 7-12 next fall. Cost for early bird registration is $420/overnight camper and $265/commuter camper. In order to qualify for the early bird registration, the registration form should be postmarked by June 23, 2014. Regular registration costs are $445/overnight camper and $280/commuter camper. Checks can be made payable to "UB Foundation".
