ITHACA, NY - The Bulls ended their regular season track meet schedule at the Deneault Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Barton Hall on the campus of Cornell.
With most of the team resting for next weekend's MAC Championships, the Bulls took home two first place finishes in the field events and a pair of solid finishes on the track.
Continuing her dominance in the weight throw was sophomore Megan Patterson. Patterson took home first place after a throw of 54-07.25 (16.64m) while fellow sophomore Taylor Woods came in fourth place with a toss of 46-11.50 (14.31m).
In the shot put, senior Rachel Roberts put together her best performance of the season as she recorded the victory. In her first victory of the season, Roberts recorded a season-best throw of 50-10.00 (15.49m) while Patterson was a close second with a throw of 48-00.00 (14.63m).
Regine Lazard continued her strong season in the 800 meter run as she took home a third place finish in 2:16.04, just short of her season-best time.
On the men's side, the Bulls had a pair of shot putters place inside the top five as freshman Ryan Cribbin took home fourth place with a long throw of 50-01.25 (15.27m) and junior Sean Harvey came in fifth with a toss of 49-00.25 (14.94m).
In the triple jump, sophomore Austin Price got back on track for the Bulls with a second place finish after producing a long jump of 47-06.50 (14.49m). Price also took home eighth place in the long jump event with a leap of 22-05.75 (6.85m). Fellow sophomore Ryan Billian led the Bulls in the long jump with a jump of 23-04.50 (7.12m), good enough for a third place finish.
The lone Bull on the men's side to run on the track was senior Zach Ahart who competed in the 5,000 meter run. It was the first time he competed in the event all season long and Ahart took 12th place, finishing with a season-best time of 15:38.40.
The UB men's and women's track and field teams will return to action next weekend as they will travel to Kent, Ohio for the 2014 MAC Championships, hosted by Kent State.
