2011-12: Earned men’s track Top Newcomer award for indoor and outdoor seasons. Won Mid-American Conference championship and earned first-team All-MAC honors as he claimed the 200m in 21.33 (after setting a season-best 21.29 in the preliminaries) at the MAC Outdoor Championships. Also finished second in the 100m (10.57) and was part of the second-place 4x100m relay (41.16) at the MAC meet. Set school record in the outdoor 100m in 10.48 at the Penn Relays. Placed sixth in the 200m (21.78) at the MAC Indoor Championships. Had top indoor 200m mark of 21.67 at Penn State Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup. Set UB’s fastest 60m time of the season of 6.80 in his first meet at the Cornell Upstate Challenge.
Previous College: Attended Long Island University. Part of LIU’s 4x100-meter champion team at the 2010 Northeast Conference Championships. Also attended Suffolk Community College.
High School: Earned three letters and captained two seasons at Newfield High School for coach Michael Soto. Named All-American and All-Long Island… Earned most valuable player honors at Newfield. Finished second in the young men’s 60-meters at the 2009 Milrose Games. State indoor champion in the 55-meters in 2009. Finished second in the 200-meters at the 2009 state outdoor championships.
Personal: Born April 11, 1991. Son of Adria and Logan Lewis. Has one brother (Justin). Favorite foods are seafood and fried vegetables. Favorite athletes are U.S. Olympic sprinters Tyson Gay and Jeff Demps. Also recruited by Virginia and Northeastern. Lists selling fish on a street corner as the strangest job he’s ever held.
