LEWISBURG, PA – The University at Buffalo men's and women's track and field teams completed action at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic late on Sunday with the Bulls winning five events along with five second-place and six third-place finishes.
UB's women's 4x100-meter relay team won its race, setting school and Bucknell stadium records in 45.94. The foursome of Jamiee McClary, Anna Holmes, Brooklynn Ventura and Crystal Graham lowered the previous school mark of 46.12 set earlier this season.
Ventura also won the women's 100-meter hurdles in a personal-best 13.80 with Ayo Ehindero finishing third in 14.60. McClary and Graham took the top two places in the women's 100-meter dash as McClary won the race in 11.92 with Graham finishing in 12.08. Asia Henry claimed the women's 800-meters in 2:07.49 with Meghan Manley was fifth in 2:09.37.
UB's women's 4x400-meter relay team of Graham, Anna Holmes, Regine Lazard and Manley turned in a third-place finish in 3:50.31.
Miles Lewis had a first-place performance in the men's 100-meters. Lewis and Shippensburg's Herman Kirkland both turned in clockings of 10.59 seconds. UB's Andre Britton was third in 10.73. Lewis also finished second in the 200-meters in 21.42. Lewis and Britton were also part of UB's second-place 4x100-meter relay team (41.19) that also included Tomarris Bell and Chris Davis.
In the field events, Rob Golabek finished second in the men's shot put and fifth in the hammer throw. Golabek turned in a shot put of 63-4.75 (19.32m) to finish behind Penn State's Joe Kovacs (63-10.25, 19.46m). He had a top hammer throw of 184-1 (56.10m).
Kristy Woods had a second-place finish in the women's shot put at 50-10.75 (15.51m) with Rachel Roberts third at 47-11.25 (14.61m). Woods was also fourth in the hammer throw at 183-2 (55.84m). Erin Miller bettered her personal best in the hammer throw at 186-3 (56.76m) to place third and was fourth in the discus at 145-4 (44.30m). Emma Siuciak was fourth in the women's long jump at 18-4.50 (5.60m) while Daniel Reynolds was fourth in the men's pole vault at 15-3 (4.65m).
The Bulls host the Upstate Challenge next Saturday at UB Stadium starting at 12:00 pm.
