Discus Competition Completes First Day At NCAA Championships

DES MOINES, IA – Two throwers for the University at Buffalo competed on the first day of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships as Becky O'Brien and Matt Gac both competed in the discus.

O'Brien finished in 18th place in the women's discus with a throw of 164-0 (49.99m), which she reached in her second attempt of the day. 

Gac, who was making his second straight NCAA Outdoor Championship appearance, finished in 16th place with a throw of 175-8 (53.56m), which was also reached on Gac's second throw.

The Bulls are back in competition on Friday as Rob Golabek will compete in the shot put at 5:30 pm.  O'Brien is back in action on Saturday at 11:00 am when she competes in the shot put.
