BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo track and field junior Dylan Conway has been named to the CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District First Team. Conway is not only a distance runner on the track and field team, but also a member of the UB Cross Country Team.
Conway is a Mechanical Engineering major with a 3.97 GPA. During the indoor track and field season, Conway recorded the top time of the year in the 3,000-meter run at 8:28.64. During the outdoor campaign, he competed in the 1,500-meter run as well as the 5,000-meter race, running his best time of the year at the Penn Relays.
Back in the fall, Conway competed for the Cross Country team, where he had his best finish at the Notre Dame Invitational. Conway also finished 27th at the MAC Championships.
To be nominated for the Capital One Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve on their respective teams with at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average. Student-athletes must reach sophomore athletic and academic standings at their current institution to be eligible.
