EUGENE, OR - University at Buffalo junior Matt Gac competed on Wednesday on the first day of the NCAA Championships in Eugene, OR. Gac was competing in the first of two events as he qualified for both the discus and the hammer throw.
Gac fouled in all three of his attempts in the discus as he was competing in rainy and slippery conditions through out Wednesday's round. Gac was one of three athletes from the Mid-American Conference in the discus as Central Michigan had two athletes in the competition.
Gac will be back in action as well as Tiffany Maskulinski and Kristy Woods on Friday when all three student-athletes compete. The hammer throw with Gac and the pole vault with Maskulinski will both take place at 4:00 pm pacific time, while Woods will compete in the shot put a little later at 4:45 pm pacific time.
