BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo Swimming & Diving team will continue their 2019 campaign at the National Invitational Championship hosted by Cleveland State at the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium from Thursday, March 14 through Saturday, March 16. Prelim sessions begin at 9:30 a.m. and are succeeded by the final sessions which get underway at 6:00 p.m. each day.
The Bulls will be sending 12 swimmers to compete in the championships later this week. Andrea Ernst, Catherine Schultheis, Jillian Lawton, Nicole Roitenberg, Anna Vitolins, Grace Baumer, Jenna Krull, Julia Boswell, Katelyn Burns, Antonia Naccarella and First-Team All-MAC selections Brittney Beetcher and Olivia Sapio will head to Cleveland to compete in the week's events.
All Division I conference champions (individual and relay) receive an automatic invitation to the NIC. In addition, any individual or relay team who equals or surpasses the CSCAA 'A' time standard during the qualifying period qualify as eligible to compete. In all, over 500 athletes from 59 institutions will be participating in the competition. Buffalo is one of five schools from the Mid-American Conference sending athletes to compete at the championships, joining Akron, Ball State, Eastern Michigan and Miami (OH).
