BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's swimming & diving team will once again be on the road to continue their 2019 campaign as they are set to square off against MAC rival Eastern Michigan in their fourth dual meet of the season at the Jones Natatorium.
Due to the likelihood extreme weather conditions on Saturday, the meeting of the Eagles and Bulls has been moved up an hour to 12 p.m. in Jones Natatorium.
The Bulls and Eagles have not met in a dual meet since 2016 which saw EMU slighting Buffalo by a narrow 164-136 margin at the Alumni Arena Natatorium. The Eagles have been dominant against Mid-American competition, as the Bulls will look to break a 16 dual meet win streak currently held by EMU against MAC schools.
Buffalo will enter Saturday's competition fresh off of a dominant performance in Pittsburgh, Pa. that saw the Bulls claim victory in 15-of-16 events in a 219-77 dual meet victory against the Dukes of Duquesne. Olivia Sapio had arguably her best showing of the season for Buffalo, claiming two individual victories in the 100-yard IM and 400-yard IM events, as well as a relay victory in the 400-yard medley relay for Buffalo. Her 400-IM winning time of 4:22.32 ranks as eight best in UB history.
Buffalo was a perfect four-for-four in relay events, sweeping the contests with victories in the 200-yard freestyle, 400-yard freestyle, 400-yard medley and 200-yard medley events.
Looking ahead, the Bulls will take a weekend off of competition before returning to Alumni Arena Natatorium on February 1st to host Bowling Green on senior day. The meet gets underway at 4:00 p.m.
