2014-15: Named MAC Swimmer of the Week. At the MAC Championships Patrum swam season-best 4:31.00 in 500 freestyle, 1:49.24 in the 200 butterfly, and 3:56.98 in the 400 IM. As part of the 800 freestyle relay, Patrum swam 1:43.00 and in the 50 butterfly swam 23.84 at the Cleveland State Invitational. Against Niagara he swam a season-best 103.89 in the 100 breaststroke and had a time of 1:57.26 in the 200 IM against Miami (OH). His season-best time of 50.61 in the 100 butterfly was achieved against St. Bonaventure. At the Western NY Invite season-best times of 23.14 in the 50 free and 55.05 in the 100 backstroke were earned.
2013-14: Named All-MAC Second Team after a strong performance at the MAC Championships. Placed seventh in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:27.67. Finished sixth in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:50.04.
2012-13: Named second-team All-MAC. Finished sixth in the 400 IM at the MAC Championships with a time of 3:58.64. Finished sixth in the 200 butterfly at the MAC Championships with a time of 1:51.69. Also placed 11th in the 1,650 freestyle at the MAC Championships (16:08.11).
High School: Earned two letters and captained one season for coach Jeff Moessinger at Frontier High School. Finished fifth in the 500 freestyle and ninth in the 200 freestyle in the 2012 New York State Championships. Also participated for five years with the STAR swim club program for coach Rick Aronberg winning athlete of the year awards in 2011 and 2012. Competed at Junior Nationals which he says was his greatest athletic experience.
Personal: Born July 14, 1994. Son of Daniel and Cynthia Patrum. Has three brothers (Danny, Trey, Erik). Favorite foods are hot dogs and french fries. Favorite TV show is Pokemon. Majoring in exercise science.
