Bulls Drop Road Dual Meet at Ohio

ATHENS, OH – The University at Buffalo women's swimming and diving team lost at Ohio, 143-89, in a Mid-American Conference dual meet on Saturday afternoon. Buffalo won four events on the afternoon, but slipped to 0-2 in conference action.

Brittney Kuras took first place in both the 50 and 100 freestyle. She recorded a time of 23.52 in the 50 free and 51.18 in the 100 free.

Freshman Brittney Walters won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:54.54. The Goshen, IN native also placed second in the 200 butterfly. 

Cristina Czyrka won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:21.87. Marisa Pulaski finished third in the event to earn three points for the Bulls. 

Becky Evangelista and Paula Stoddard placed second and third, respectively, in the 500 freestyle.

In the 200 yard backstroke, Melissa Trail, Alexis Valedon and Nicole Rodriguez finished second, third and fourth, respectively, to total nine points for the Bulls.

Buffalo will return home to host Colgate next Saturday at the Alumni Arena Natatorium.
