Women’s Swimming and Diving Drops MAC Opener to Toledo

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's swimming and diving team lost its opening Mid-American Conference dual to Toledo, 192-100, at the Alumni Arena Natatorium on Saturday afternoon. Brittney Kuras won three events and Cristina Czyrka won one for the Bulls.

Kuras' first win came in the 200 freestyle. She finished with a time of 1:51.76. She next won the 100 freestyle with a time of 50.75. Her third win came in the 200 IM. The Canadaigua, NY native had a time of 2:06.33.

Buffalo's other win came from Cristina Czyrka. She won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:22.58 – defeating the second place swimmer by nearly four seconds.

It was the second meet of the weekend for the Bulls. UB's men's and women's swimming and diving teams hosted Cornell on Friday afternoon. There was no scoring for the meet. Click here for the results.

The Bulls are back in action next weekend. The men will host Penn State on Saturday while the women travel to Ohio to continue conference action.
