  • Softball To Hold Fall Clinics
    August 12, 2013
    Head softball coach Trena Peel and her staff will be hosting two fall clinics on September 28, beginning with a pitching clinic at 8:30 am, followed by a defensive skills clinic at 11:00 am. The clinic is open those ages 9-18 and will be held at Nan Harvey Field.

    First-year head softball coach Trena Peel has completed her first coaching staff at UB today with the hiring of Lacey Middlebrooks as pitching coach. Middlebrooks just completed an impressive playing career at the University of Tulsa.

  • Tori Speckman Named Second-Team All-MAC

    University at Buffalo junior pitcher Tori Speckman has been named to the All-Mid-American Conference Second Team, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon. The award is the first for Speckman and the first time a UB pitcher has been honored since 2004.

    The University at Buffalo softball scored the first seven runs on Thursday afternoon and held on for an 8-6 victory over Canisius at the Demske Sports Complex. The victory capped off a two-game sweep of Canisius and improved UB’s record against Big 4 schools to 4-0 on the season.

    Junior pitcher Tori Speckman threw a complete game three-hit shutout and freshman Anissa Pinedo hit her first career home run as the University at Buffalo softball team shutout Canisius, 3-0. The victory improved Buffalo to 13-26 on the season, while Canisius fell to 21-17.

    The University at Buffalo softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader on Sunday falling to Northern Illinois, 6-4, in extra innings in the opener and 6-0 in the second game. Prior to today’s game, the Bulls honored their four-member senior class.

    Due to rain and high winds in the Buffalo area, today's softball doubleheader against Western Michigan has been cancelled. The games will not be made up. The Bulls were looking to play their first games at home since March 30, but it will have to wait at least one more day.

    Following one of the best weeks in her college career, junior pitcher Tori Speckman was honored by the Mid-American Conference on Monday afternoon as its East Division Co-Pitcher of the Week. The award is the first for a UB player this season and the second in Speckman’s career.
