CLEVELAND, OH - The University at Buffalo men's tennis team ended the weekend on a high note as the Bulls defeated Xavier 5-2 in Cleveland, OH on Saturday morning. The Bulls came away with five of the six victories in singles action.
The Musketeers took the early doubles point with wins at first and second doubles, but UB did secure a win at third doubles as Nickolas Frisk and Villhelm Fridell came away with a 6-3 victory.
Buffalo won five of the six matches in singles with the lone loss coming at third singles as junior Hao Sheng Koay retired in the third set due to illness.
Senior Ethan Nittolo moved back up to first singles where he won his match, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, and Fridell claimed a win at second singles, 6-4, 7-5.

"This weekend we faced as much adversity as I can remember in some time," said head coach Lee Nickell. "After a brutal match with Cleveland State, I am really proud of the way our guys rebounded and beat Xavier. We need to get healthy, but I am excited about the upcoming matches next weekend."
The Bulls will head down to Princeton next weekend where they will meet Bryant on Friday and the host Tigers on Saturday.
