JACKSONVILLE, FL – For the third time in as many matches, the University at Buffalo men's tennis team was locked in a 4-3 match up, this time prevailing over Mercer Saturday afternoon on the campus of North Florida.  The Bulls improve to 2-1 on the year.

UB took the doubles point with victories at second and third doubles.  Sophomore Matthew Johnson and senior Ethan Nittolo won easily at second doubles, 6-1, and then Buffalo clinched the point at third double as sophomore Nickolas Frisk and junior Hao Sheng Koay came away with a 7-6 (4) win in the tiebreaker.

The two teams split the six matches in singles.  Mercer picked up the first win at five to get on the board, but then Frisk came away with the 6-4, 6-1 win at fourth singles to give UB the 2-1 lead in the match.  Mercer tied it up with a win at second singles, but UB regained the advantage as freshman Simon Wibler won 6-3, 6-4 at sixth singles and then Koay clinched it at third singles with a 6-4, 6-3 win.
