BUFFALO, NY – Head men's basketball coach Jim Whitesell has announced the signing of 6-10 center David Skogman to a National Letter of Intent, the second to sign with UB for the upcoming season.
A native of Waukesha, WI, Skogman was a second-team All-State selection this past year for Waukesha West High School. He averaged 18.6 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks per game during his senior season, while shooting 38.6% from three-point range.
"We are thrilled to have David join our program," said Whitesell. "He comes from a great family and he is exactly the type of player that fits well into our system. He can shoot the three, post up down low and help protect the rim on defense. He is a blue collar type of player and fans will really enjoy watching him develop over the next four years."
Skogman led the Wolverines to a 22-4 season and a league title as he was also named a first-team All-Classic Eight Conference Player for the second straight year. WSN Connect voted Skogman as its top post player in the state of Wisconsin, while 247 Sports has Skogman listed as its second best player in the state of Wisconsin for 2019 and the 59th best center nationally. Rivals.com lists Skogman as a three-star prospect.
Skogman joins junior college transfer David Nickelberry, who committed to the Bulls in late April.
