The University at Buffalo’s popular Tailgate Concert Series returns for a seventh season this fall and the school has announced the acts coming to Stampede Square beginning in August. Presented by Losi and Gangi, fans will once again enjoy live music by national recording artists as well as popular local talent just 100 yards away from the south gate of the stadium two hours prior to kickoff.
The Mid-American Conference announced the updated 2019 football schedule with kick times and television platforms for a number of University at Buffalo football games. The highlight of the schedule is a nationally-televised prime-time matchup at Penn State on September 7. The Bulls and Nittany Lions will face off at 7:30 pm on Fox.
Athlon Sports released its preseason All-Mid-American Conference football team and nine University at Buffalo players were named to the squad. The list was headlined by three first-team selections, running back Jaret Patterson and offensive linemen Evin Ksiezarczyk and Paul Nosworthy.

Scott Fuchs, a 25-year veteran of college coaching, has been hired as offensive line coach at the University at Buffalo, head coach Lance Leipold announced on Friday. Fuchs comes to Buffalo after spending the previous five seasons as offensive line coach at Wyoming. Leipold and Fuchs also worked on the same staff at Nebraska-Omaha from 2004-06.
University at Buffalo Director of Football Recruiting Operations Cady Oster will participate in the National Football League’s Women’s Careers in Football Forum held at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. The forum is part of the NFL’s ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Fresh off a school-record 10-win campaign and a berth in the Dollar General Bowl, the University at Buffalo football team announced it will kick off the 2019 campaign at home against Robert Morris on Thursday, August. 29. The Bulls released their entire 2019 football schedule on Wednesday.
Brad McCaslin, who spent two seasons on the University at Buffalo football staff, is returning to the UB program to serve as defensive tackles coach, head coach Lance Leipold announced on Friday. McCaslin previous served as a defensive analyst as well as a defensive assistant and director of player personnel for the Bulls during the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
University at Buffalo running back Jaret Patterson was honored by the Touchdown Club of Columbus on Saturday night as one of the Mid-American Conference players to watch in 2019. The sophomore running back was one of eight players from the MAC named to the annual list.
Former University at Buffalo football players Tyree Jackson and Anthony Johnson have earned invitations to the NFL Scouting Combine, the National Football League announced on Thursday. It marks the first time in school history Buffalo has had two players invited to the Combine in the same year.

Tyree Jackson and Anthony Johnson will participate in the 2019 State Farm All-Star Football Challenge at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The 21st edition of the All-Star Football Challenge will air on ESPN2 at 9 p.m. ET on Friday, Feb. 1. The skills competition will feature 24 of college football’s brightest stars divided into six teams based on their college conference. Each team will consist of four players from the same conference that will compete for conference supremacy in a series of skills competitions. The conferences represented are the ACC, the Big Ten, the Big 12, the Pac-12, the SEC, and four of the best players outside of the Power Five that will be called the “Wild Card” team.

Matt Gildersleeve has been tabbed the new head football strength and conditioning coach at the University at Buffalo, head coach Lance Leipold announced on Tuesday. Gildersleeve comes from the University of Akron where he spent the past seven seasons. He will oversee UB football’s strength program as well as the nutrition program and fueling station.
A pair of University at Buffalo football players have been selected to play in SPIRAL Tropical Bowl. Defensive end Chuck Harris and cornerback Cameron Lewis will both play in one of the premier FBS Division I level all-star games scheduled for January 13 in Daytona Beach, FL.
University at Buffalo senior linebacker Khalil Hodge was named a fourth-team All-American by Phil Steele, it was announced on Friday. The publication also listed 10 UB football players on its All-Mid-American Conference team.
