In her first three years Megan has taken charge of the annual fund and stewardship. Most recently Megan created and launched the first ever UB Athletics crowdfunding website, www.UBhornsUP.com, which has been very successful. In 2013 she created and launched the Rise Up annual campaign – which has propelled the Blue & White Fund team towards all-time highs in both membership and cash collections during the 2014, 2015 and 2016 fiscal years. Overall membership was up 12% in FY14 and 32% in FY15, while cash collections were up 19% in FY14 and 69% in FY15. In addition she developed the “500 for 500” Block B letter winners campaign. Which has more than doubled in membership/participation levels of former student athletes by 100% (started out at 250 – now over 600). Along with the annual campaign Reed also oversees the Football and Basketball Game Day Benefit programs and all premium seat efforts for Football and Men’s Basketball.
Reed came to UB from the Hyatt Regency Buffalo where she served as the Sales Manager for the Sports and University markets. At the Hyatt, she was the top producing sales manager and was awarded the Hyatt ELITE Performer Award which is awarded to the top sales performers in all of Hyatt Corporation. Before joining the Hyatt, Reed was the Director of Game Day Experience and Events for the University of California-Berkeley (Cal) Athletics Department. At Cal, she oversaw the vision and execution of the marketing, special events, and the game day experience and promotions for 27 sports. Reed played an integral role in setting attendance and revenue records, specifically setting a Pac-12 single-game attendance record for women’s basketball of 10,527 fans for the Cal vs. Stanford game. Also, she developed and launched a courtside seat campaign for women’s basketball that sold out in the first year and generated over $250,000 in additional revenue for the Cal athletic fund.
Prior to joining Cal, Reed worked stints as the Director of Promotions at Colorado State University, and as Marketing and Sales Assistant with the NBA Charlotte Hornets and the WNBA Charlotte Sting. In addition to her job responsibilities, she has worked numerous NCAA championship events and conference tournaments as the Marketing/Game Operations Manager.
